Brief Description

Job Type: Full-time
Location: Technopark, Trivandrum
Experience Required: 0–1 Year
Salary: 25,000–35,000 per month

About the Role

We are looking for a creative and concept-driven designer who can transform abstract ideas, behavioural principles and technology-driven objectives into tangible objects, thoughtfully designed spaces and meaningful experiences.

The role involves two equally important design areas:

  1. Object & Product Design: Translating concepts and behavioural ideas into physical objects, workplace accessories, functional prototypes and tangible design solutions.

  2. Space & Interior Experience Design: Translating human behaviour, activities and conceptual ideas into functional interior layouts, spatial arrangements and engaging environments that influence how people interact, work and experience a space.

The ideal candidate should be interested in designing both physical objects and the spaces around people, combining creativity, functionality, aesthetics and human-centred thinking.

Key Responsibilities

1. Object & Product Design

  • Develop creative concepts for everyday objects, workplace accessories and functional products.

  • Translate abstract ideas and behavioural principles into physical objects, sketches, models and prototypes.

  • Explore how the design, appearance and functionality of objects can encourage positive habits and behaviours.

  • Experiment with different materials, shapes, dimensions, structures and design possibilities.

  • Develop practical designs that balance creativity, aesthetics and usability.

2. Space & Interior Experience Design

  • Develop creative concepts for interior spaces, workplace environments and activity-based spaces.

  • Translate human behaviour, activities and functional requirements into thoughtful spatial layouts and arrangements.

  • Design how people interact with, move through and experience different spaces.

  • Explore furniture placement, spatial zoning, lighting, materials, colours and visual elements to create functional and engaging environments.

  • Develop layout concepts, sketches, mood boards, spatial models and basic 3D visualisations.

  • Understand how the physical environment can influence human behaviour, interaction, productivity and experiences.

3. Concept Development & Execution

  • Convert abstract concepts into visual representations, design sketches, models and prototypes.

  • Use illustrations, text and visual guides to communicate design concepts effectively.

  • Research materials, design approaches, references and practical implementation possibilities.

  • Collect feedback, refine concepts and improve design solutions.

  • Collaborate with team members to transform initial ideas into practical design outcomes.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong creative thinking, conceptualisation and problem-solving abilities.

  • Interest in both physical object design and interior/spatial design.

  • Ability to visualise abstract ideas and translate them into tangible design concepts.

  • Basic knowledge of sketching, drawing, layouts and visual communication.

  • Understanding of aesthetics, functionality, proportion, form and space.

  • Interest in exploring materials, structures, spatial arrangements and prototyping.

  • Ability to understand human behaviour and how objects and environments influence experiences.

  • Good communication skills and willingness to learn and collaborate.

Qualifications

Final-year students and fresh graduates from the following or related disciplines are encouraged to apply:Product Design/ Industrial Design/ Interior Design/ Interior Architecture/ Architecture / Spatial Design/ Communication Design/ Visual Design/ Interaction Design or Other relevant design disciplines

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with tools such as Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Blender, Rhino or equivalent design applications.

  • Basic knowledge of 2D layouts, 3D modelling, rendering and visualisation.

  • Exposure to physical model-making, prototyping and material exploration.

  • Understanding of human-centred design, behavioural design, spatial experience or environmental design.

  • Ability to create mood boards, concept presentations and design documentation.

  • Interest in AI tools, technology-driven environments and responsible technology adoption.

Portfolio Requirements

Candidates must submit a portfolio demonstrating their creative thinking, conceptualization, and design execution.

We value conceptual thinking, creativity and the ability to translate ideas into practical design solutions over extensive professional experience
