Automation QA Engineer

Location: Technopark, Trivandrum | Work Mode: WFO | Experience: 4–7 Years

 

About the Role

Way.com is looking for a hands-on Automation QA Engineer to drive test automation across our products. This is a pure automation role focused on building scalable frameworks, expanding automated coverage, and integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright and related tools.
  • Develop automated UI, API, integration, regression, and smoke tests.
  • Automate critical end-to-end customer and business workflows.
  • Convert manual regression scenarios into automated test suites.
  • Integrate automation into CI/CD and GitHub pipelines.
  • Identify and eliminate flaky tests and automation failures.
  • Build reusable and maintainable automation components.
  • Collaborate with engineering and QA teams to identify automation gaps.
  • Leverage AI-assisted coding and AI tools to improve automation development, debugging, test creation, and productivity.
  • Track and report automation coverage, execution results, defects, and progress.

Preferred Skills

  • 4–7 years of experience in QA Automation / Test Automation.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
  • Strong programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Python, or equivalent.
  • Strong experience in API automation.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Git, and GitHub.
  • Good understanding of web applications, APIs, databases, and microservices.
  • Experience designing scalable automation frameworks.
  • Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding and AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar tools.
  • Ability to independently identify and prioritize automation opportunities.
