3D Product Designer

Brief Description

Job Overview

We are looking for a 3D Product Designer to join our Product Engineering team. The candidate will be responsible for 3D modelling, product design, prototyping, and 3D printing.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D CAD models for product development.

• Convert concepts and designs into accurate 3D models.

• Prepare and optimize CAD files for 3D printing.

• Work with different 3D printing technologies and materials.

• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot 3D printers.

• Inspect and improve printed parts based on design requirements.

• Support product prototyping and development activities.

• Apply basic DFM/DFA principles to improve product design.

• Perform basic post-processing and finishing of 3D printed parts.

• Maintain design files, documentation, and version control.

• Coordinate with the engineering and internal teams to complete projects.

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of 3D CAD modelling and product design.

• Experience with SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CATIA, or similar CAD software.

• Basic knowledge of 3D printing technologies such as FDM, SLA, or SLS.

• Familiarity with any slicer software such as Cura, PrusaSlicer, etc.

• Basic understanding of materials such as PLA, PETG, ABS and ASA.

• Knowledge of mechanical design, tolerances, and basic DFM/DFA.

• Good problem-solving and attention to detail.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Experience & Qualification

• Experience: 1–2 years of relevant experience in 3D Product Design, CAD, Product Development, or 3D Printing.

• Qualification: B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred.

• Diploma or certification in CAD, 3D Design, Product Design, or 3D Printing will also be considered.

• Hands-on experience in real-world projects is preferred.

Preferred

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Experience in real-world product development or prototyping projects.

• Hands-on experience with 3D printers and post-processing.

• Basic knowledge of mechanical and electronic components.
