Role Purpose
To establish and strengthen the public identity of Semicon Keralam and its centres through coherent branding, strategic communications and sustained engagement with print, television, digital and industry media. The role will serve as the primary point for institutional positioning, media relations, brand governance and reputation-building communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an integrated branding, public relations and external communication strategy for Semicon Keralam and its centres.
- Define and maintain consistent brand positioning, key messages, naming conventions, visual standards and communication protocols across centres and public-facing channels.
- Develop, document and enforce brand guidelines covering logo use, colours, typography, layouts, signage, co-branding, event branding, digital assets and print applications.
- Plan proactive media outreach around major programmes, investments, partnerships, research outcomes, events, milestones, expert commentary and institutional achievements.
- Draft, edit and coordinate press releases, media notes, press briefs, backgrounders, FAQs, spokesperson notes, feature pitches, op-eds, media invitations and official public communication.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with journalists, editors, technology/business correspondents, television/news desks, digital publications and relevant industry media.
- Coordinate press conferences, media briefings, interviews, media visits, press rooms and on-site media facilitation for major events and announcements.
- Identify opportunities to position Semicon Keralam experts, centres, programmes and achievements in regional, national, business, technology and industry media.
- Maintain a media database and structured repository of press releases, published coverage, clippings, interview links, media contacts and communication records.
- Develop or supervise institutional brochures, corporate profiles, annual/periodic communication material, advertisements, exhibition panels, event backdrops, signage, media kits and brand collateral.
- Coordinate with advertising/PR agencies, designers, printers, photographers, videographers, production houses and media partners, ensuring quality, timeliness and brand compliance. \
- Monitor media coverage and public narratives, flag reputational risks or inaccuracies, and coordinate factual corrections/clarifications through the appropriate authority when required.
- Prepare periodic media-impact reports covering coverage quality, share of voice, key narratives, media relationships and recommended communication actions.
- Work closely with the content/social media specialist to ensure a single integrated editorial and brand calendar across digital, print and news-media activity.
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Mass Communication, Journalism, Marketing, Brand Management, Media Studies, Business Communication or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
- A postgraduate qualification in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Brand Management, Business Administration or a related discipline will be preferred.
Experience
- Preferably 5-8 years of relevant experience in branding, public relations, corporate/institutional communications, media relations or integrated communication roles.
- Demonstrated experience independently handling journalists/media houses, press materials, institutional branding and communication campaigns is expected.
- Experience in technology, electronics, semiconductor, deep-tech, startup, research, government, public-sector or industry communication will be an added advantage.
