IT Manager
Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on IT Manager to lead and manage our organization's IT infrastructure, systems, security, and internal IT operations, with particular emphasis on the tools and platforms that support software development teams. This is a critical leadership role responsible for the availability, security, scalability, and performance of all technology systems — including source code management, CI/CD, ticketing, and collaboration platforms — that support day-to-day engineering and business operations.
The ideal candidate is a technically strong, current, and proactive professional who combines enterprise IT infrastructure and cybersecurity expertise with practical, working knowledge of developer tooling (Git-based repositories, Jira, Jira Service Management, and asset/service management tools). This person will define IT strategy, lead the IT team, drive IT compliance, and personally roll up their sleeves to implement and maintain technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure Management
• Manage and maintain the organization's complete IT infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Ensure high availability and performance of servers, storage, networking, internet connectivity, and business-critical systems.
• Plan, implement, and monitor infrastructure upgrades, scalability, and capacity planning.
• Maintain IT asset inventory, lifecycle management, and procurement, including hardware, software, and cloud resources.
Network & Security
• Configure, manage, and monitor enterprise firewalls, VPNs, routers, switches, wireless networks, and network security.
• Implement and continually strengthen practical cybersecurity measures across the organization, including endpoint protection, email security, multi-factor authentication (MFA), access controls, and vulnerability management.
• Own security incident detection, monitoring, and coordinate timely remediation activities.
• Ensure IT compliance with organizational security policies, data protection requirements, and industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR as applicable).
• Manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
• Stay current on the latest cybersecurity threats, tools, and techniques, and proactively update defenses accordingly.
Systems Administration
• Administer Windows and Linux servers.
• Manage Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and identity management.
• Oversee Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, email systems, and collaboration platforms.
• Manage virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Support cloud infrastructure including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Software Development Tooling & DevOps Enablement
• Administer and maintain source code repository platforms such as Git, GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket, including access control, branching policies, and repository health.
• Own end-to-end administration of Jira and Jira Service Management (JSM), including project/workflow configuration, automation rules, SLAs, and service catalogs.
• Manage Confluence and other knowledge-collaboration platforms used by engineering teams.
• Administer CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins and similar pipelines) to support reliable build, test, and deployment processes.
• Manage asset management and IT service management (ITSM) tools (ASMT) for tracking hardware, software, licenses, and service requests end to end.
• Partner closely with engineering and DevOps teams to ensure developer tooling is secure, reliable, and continuously improved.
IT Operations
• Lead internal IT support and helpdesk operations.
• Establish and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for IT and developer-tooling support.
• Develop and improve IT policies, SOPs, and operational procedures.
• Ensure timely resolution of infrastructure, tooling, and user issues.
• Coordinate with vendors, ISPs, SaaS/tooling providers, and hardware suppliers.
Collaboration & Enterprise Tools
Manage and administer enterprise and collaboration applications including:
• Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management (JSM)
• Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
• GitHub / GitLab / Bitbucket and other Git repositories
• Jenkins and CI/CD tools
• Microsoft Teams, Slack, and other collaboration platforms
• Endpoint and device management solutions (Intune, Jamf, etc.)
• Remote access tools
• Monitoring and logging platforms
• Password and secrets management systems
• Asset management and ITSM tools (ASMT)
Team Management
• Lead, mentor, and manage the internal IT team, setting clear goals and accountability.
• Allocate work, monitor performance, and conduct regular reviews.
• Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Identify training and development opportunities to keep the team current with the latest IT tools and techniques.
• Manage hiring and onboarding for IT personnel as needed.
Governance & Compliance
• Develop, implement, and enforce IT governance policies across the organization.
• Own IT compliance end-to-end, including software licensing compliance, data security standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation for infrastructure, networks, developer tooling, processes, and configurations.
• Lead preparation for and support of internal and external IT/security audits.
• Manage vendor contracts, SaaS subscriptions, and technology budgets.
Strategic Responsibilities
• Align IT and developer-tooling initiatives with business and engineering goals.
• Continuously evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and techniques, keeping pace with the latest developments in IT (beyond hardware configuration alone).
• Drive automation and process improvements across IT operations and developer workflows.
• Participate in technology planning, budgeting, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Provide regular reports to senior management on IT operations, security posture, compliance status, and project progress.
Required Technical Skills
The ideal candidate should have strong, hands-on working knowledge of:

• Jira, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence administration

• 8–12+ years of overall IT experience.
• Minimum 3–5 years in an IT leadership or IT Manager role, ideally leading an IT team of min.5 members
• Experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure and developer tooling in a software development or IT services company.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience administering Git repositories, Jira, JSM, and asset/ITSM tools.
• Professional certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), Fortinet (NSE), VMware (VCP), AWS/Azure certifications, or CISSP are highly desirable.
Key Competencies
