SUMMARY: The Business Analyst acts as a consultative business partner responsible for bridging the gap between business challenges and data-driven solutions. This role focuses on deeply understanding business problems to gather and refine requirements for business intelligence, interactive dashboards, and advanced visualizations. By leveraging Power BI and the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform (including SQL and AI/BI), the Business Analyst ensures that data products provide meaningful insights that drive strategic decision-making and operational excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasks may include but are not limited to:
- Partner with business owners to identify core business problems and translate them into actionable requirements for business intelligence and data products.
- Facilitate discovery sessions to gather requirements for dashboards and visualizations, ensuring alignment between stakeholder expectations and technical feasibility.
- Decompose high-level business needs into detailed functional requirements for implementation teams specializing in Databricks SQL and Power BI development.
- Utilize Databricks AI/BI capabilities to enable self-service analytics and natural language data exploration for non-technical stakeholders.
- Manage the delivery lifecycle for BI products, whether developed internally or by external partners, ensuring compliance with data and visualization standards.
- Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for all dashboards and reports to ensure they provide the intended business value and answer the primary business questions.
- Serve as the primary liaison between business units and data engineering teams to ensure underlying data models support complex reporting requirements.
