Brief Description

SubHosting is looking for a motivated Technical Support Intern to join our technical support team responsible for managing Linux server infrastructure across datacentres in India and the USA. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in server administration, technical support, and datacenter operations. Full training will be provided to help you grow into the role.

Location: Technopark Phase 3 Campus ,Thiruvananthapuram | Type: Internship (Stipend) | Duration: 12 months | Shift: Rotational, 24x7 coverage.

Key Responsibilities

Provide first-line technical support for Linux-based web, email, and database servers across our India and USA datacenters.

Manage and resolve technical support tickets within defined SLAs, escalating complex issues as needed.

Monitor server health, performance, and uptime, and respond to alerts promptly.

Assist with routine server administration tasks including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Work in rotational shifts to ensure continuous 24x7 support coverage.

Document issues, resolutions, and standard operating procedures.

Collaborate with senior engineers and team members to maintain service reliability.

Preferred Skills

Requirements

Basic understanding of Linux operating systems and command-line fundamentals

Eagerness to learn server administration and technical support workflows

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Good written and verbal communication skills in English

Willingness and availability to work in rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Reliability and a sense of ownership over assigned tasks

Desirable (Not Mandatory)

Linux certification such as RHCSA, RHCE, LFCS (Linux Foundation), or CompTIA Linux+

Familiarity with web servers (Apache/Nginx), email servers, or database servers (MySQL/MariaDB).

Exposure to control panels such as cPanel/WHM.

Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS).

Understanding of ticketing systems and helpdesk processes.

Education 

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline preferred, but not mandatory.

Open to all experience levels - fresh graduates and early-career candidates are welcome.
