Role Overview

The Junior System Administrator will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and adherence to security standards. This role requires hands-on knowledge in system administrationnetwork,  support, security practices, and end-user assistance. The candidate will assist in managing business-critical systems, deployments, and IT support activities.

Key Responsibilities

System Administration

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux systems, endpoints, and virtualization environments (Hyper-V/VMware).
  • Support and manage Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and related enterprise services.
  • Monitor server and system performance to ensure uptime and reliability.

Network & Security Management

  • Assist in configuring and monitoring firewalls, switches (L2/L3), Wi-Fi controllers (Cisco Meraki), and VPN solutions (Cisco AnyConnect).
  • Implement and support security measures including MFA, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity and infrastructure-related issues.

End-User & Asset Support

  • Provide technical support for laptops, desktops, printers, and collaboration tools such as Teams and SharePoint.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory and ensure compliance with company IT policies.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding activities including account setup, access management, and device allocation.

Backup, Monitoring & Maintenance

  • Monitor system logs, alerts, and backups to ensure high availability of services.
  • Support backup, recovery, and business continuity procedures.
  • Perform regular health checks, software updates, and patch management across systems and endpoints.

Documentation & Process Improvement

  • Maintain IT documentation including SOPs, access records, and network diagrams.
  • Recommend improvements to IT operations, service delivery, and security practices.

Preferred Skills

Required Skills 

  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Windows/Linux administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365/Azure.
  • Familiarity with firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet), switches (Cisco, TP-Link, Dell), and VPN technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills related to hardware, operating systems, and networking.
  • Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in IT support or system administration.
