Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to support the accounting operations of a US-based property management company. The candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities related to residential and/or commercial properties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting, and tenant-related accounting functions. The role requires working in US shift timings and coordinating with US-based property managers, vendors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations for multiple properties and associations.
- Handle accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and vendor payments.
- Process tenant rent payments, owner distributions, and security deposit accounting.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheets, P&L reports, and cash flow reports.
- Perform bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Monitor rent collections, outstanding balances, and aging reports.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain lease records and support property-related accounting transactions.
- Coordinate with property managers, tenants, vendors, and US-based stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and US accounting standards.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and accounting records.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in property management or real estate accounting.
- Good understanding of bookkeeping and US accounting practices.
- Experience using property management/accounting software such as Buildium and QuickBooks
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently in US shift/night shift schedules.
