Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Engineering to lead our India-based engineering organization. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day engineering execution, driving delivery excellence, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
The ideal candidate is a strong delivery leader and people manager who can effectively coordinate across multiple teams and functions while maintaining high standards in execution, communication, and team engagement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Engineering Delivery & Execution
- Oversee daily engineering operations including sprint execution, scrum ceremonies, and stand-ups
- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of ongoing projects and tasks
- Maintain visibility into all active workstreams and proactively identify risks, delays, and dependencies
- Drive accountability across teams to meet delivery commitments
2. Leadership & Team Management
- Provide functional leadership to engineering managers, lead engineers, and development teams
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance, and accountable engineering culture
- Act as a strong people manager, supporting team members in both professional growth and personal concerns
- Mentor and guide leadership within the engineering organization
3. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate closely with product, architecture, and business teams to ensure alignment on priorities and execution
- Support architectural and design discussions, providing oversight across technologies
- Ensure best practices in engineering processes, quality, and operational efficiency
- Engage with business owners and stakeholders, providing timely updates on progress, priorities, and risks
4. Technology Oversight
- Provide leadership across a diverse technology stack, including:
- Backend: Java, Node.js
- Frontend: Angular, React
- Mobile: iOS, Android
- Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
- Infrastructure & DevOps
5. Reporting & Communication
- Provide daily updates to leadership on progress, risks, and key developments
- Deliver structured weekly reports covering:
- Project status
- Key tasks and milestones
- Ownership and accountability
- Risks and mitigation plans
- Support executive-level reporting
