Brief Description

As a Cloud Engineer you will be a part of our Engineering team that is building high quality enterprise class software for the retail industry.

Responsibilites

  • Creating a well-informed cloud strategy and managing the adaptation process
  • Evaluating cloud applications, hardware and software
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines 
  • Build effective monitoring and alerts for the Production and non-productions deployments 
  • Plan deployments using Blue-Green switch with Zero downtime
  • Perform Emergency hot fixes as and when required
  • Perform routine security patching of the OS, VMs and other software components
  • Perform security hardening of the computing & networking infrastructure
  • Plan effectively for Disaster Recovery
  • Ensure that the Disaster Recovery Plan is up-to-date and orchestrate periodic DR testing
  • Perform automatic backup / restore of production database
  • Use best practices in DevOps for build, deploy and monitoring in a cost effective manner
  • Monitor production systems for any outages, performance degradation or errors / exception
  • Ensure VAPT gets executed on an annual basis and any issues related to the deployment infrastructure are timely addressed
  • Provide inputs on performance appraisal for the team members
  • Keep an eye on evolving DevOps best practices in the industry and plan for their adoption 
  • Adopt Industry Best practices in DevOps

Preferred Skills

Primary Skills

  • Expertise in building/maintaining Jenkins, Azure DevOps or BitBucket Pipelines
  • Expertise in Containerization using Docker and Container orchestration using Kubernetes
  • Excellent command over Source Configuration Management tools like GitHub, BitBucket, GitLab etc.
  • Expertise in Security hardening best practices like CIS benchmarks, IDS, IPS, Antivirus, Security patching, Network configuration et al.
  • Expertise in maintaining infrastructure components in a multi data center setup
  • Expertise in at least 2 public cloud systems
  • Certification in at least 1 public cloud system
  • Expertise in Security hardening best practices like CIS benchmarks, IDS, IPS, Antivirus, Security patching, Network configuration et al.

Secondary Skills

  • Minimum 7 years of DevOps experience, preferably in a Software product company.
  • Graduate or Postgraduate in Engineering / Computer Applications
  • Has familiarity with the retail industry domain
  • Expertise in more than one cloud provider like Azure, AWS etc
  • Desire to work on complex multi region, disaster recovery enabled, high availability and scalable systems.
  • Desire to design and build complex multi region, disaster recovery enabled, high availability and scalable systems.

Certifications

  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM®)
  • AWS Certified Solution Architect
  • GCP Certified Cloud Architect
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Microsoft Azure training and certifications
