About the Role
We’re looking for a Java Backend Engineer with 4–6 years of experience to join our core development team. You’ll be responsible for building and optimizing backend services that power our fleet management platform, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend modules for existing fleet management system
- Design and implement scalable APIs for real-time fleet tracking and analytics
- Optimize data storage and retrieval for large-scale GPS datasets
- Integrate with third-party tracking devices and IoT protocols (MQTT, TCP/UDP, HTTP, HTTPS, SMS, GPRS/5G)
- Collaborate with frontend, mobile, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Monitor and improve system performance, uptime, and data accuracy
Requirements
- 3–4 years of experience in backend development, preferably in Java
- Strong understanding of SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Experience with RESTful API design and integration
- Familiarity with Linux server environments and Git workflows
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and cloud deployment
- Exposure to scalable system design and performance tuning
- Knowledge of IoT protocols and GPS tracking systems is a plus
Nice to Have
- Understanding of security best practices in backend development
- System design experience for high concurrency for multiple devices, protocol translation for diverse GPS hardware and scalable API wrappers
