Toonz Animation is seeking a talented and passionate 3D Rigging Artist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing robust and efficient character and prop rigs for animation and/or game development. You will work closely with character modelers and animators to ensure rigs meet the artistic and technical requirements of our projects, enabling high-quality and believable movement.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop complex skeletal rigs and control systems for a variety of 3D characters, creatures, and props, ensuring they are animation-friendly and technically sound.
- Create intuitive and user-friendly control interfaces for animators, optimizing for efficient and expressive performance capture and keyframe animation.
- Collaborate closely with character modelers to ensure proper topology and model preparation for rigging.
- Work in tandem with animators to understand their needs and iterate on rigs based on feedback.
- Develop and implement deformation setups using techniques such as skinning, weight painting, blend shapes, and corrective shapes to achieve realistic and appealing movement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve rigging issues, providing timely support and solutions to the animation team.
- Develop and maintain efficient rigging pipelines, tools, and documentation.
- Explore and implement new rigging techniques and technologies to enhance the quality and efficiency of our workflows.
- Conduct thorough testing of rigs to ensure stability, performance, and ease of use.
- Ensure proper integration of rigs into the production pipeline.
- Potentially contribute to facial rigging and the creation of detailed facial control systems.
